Position: Sales Representative  

Hedley greeted Saleh, introduced himself and the other interviewers who were going to interview him. Hedley asked Saleh to introduce himself briefly. Saleh said he was 18 and he had a bachelor degree in marketing and that he studied in a private school before college. Hedley asked him to tell how it is different to study English in HCT and high school. Saleh answered that in school they didn’t take the English language seriously and that the teacher helped them in the quizzes and by helping he meant letting them cheat. Mohammad asked Saleh about how he thought about working at weekends and nights. Saleh answered that working at night was fine with him but he would never work weekends. Then Mohammad asked why would you want to work at our company. Saleh said that because it had a new system in fixing errors and its 30 years old. Saleh said that his greatest strengths were passion and motivation and that he is really creative when he does things he loves. Mohammad asked him if could work under pressure. Saleh said yes and told us the story about submitting several projects in a short time. Saleh asked if there would be a training course for him if he got accepted. Ahmed answered that there would be one and it’s 6 months long. Hedley thanked Saleh for coming and said that they would contact him in two weeks.

Interviewee: Abdulla Hussein
Interviewers: Hedley, Yousef and Abdulla Ahmed (me)
Position: Civil Engineer
 Hedley greeted Abdulla, introduced himself and the other interviewers who were going to interview him. Hedley asked Abdulla to introduce himself briefly. Abdulla said he is 18 and he is studying civil engineering. Hedley said oh my God you are very young. Hedley asked him if he liked studying at HCT. Abdulla said yes because of the social environment in the college. Abdulla Ahmed asked him why he chose to study civil engineering. He said because he likes drawing and sketching buildings. Abdulla said that his outside interest is football (soccer).  Then Hedley asked Abdulla if he had a question for us. Abdulla asked what his job title would be. Abdulla Ahmed answered Civil Engineer Trainee. Then Abdulla asked Yousef how our company was doing. Yousef said well but we needed new employees. Hedley ended the interview by thanking Abdulla for coming and telling him that we would contact him in a few days.

Position: Mechanical Engineer
Hedley greeted Mohammad, introduced himself and the other interviewers who were going to interview him. Hedley asked Mohammad to introduce himself briefly. Mohammad said that he is 19 years old and he’s studying mechanical engineering and he told us the reason why he wants to work at our company. Abdulla’s first question to Mohammad was what is your greatest strength. He said that he is very punctual and never late. Then he said that his greatest weakness was that he gets angry a lot with irresponsible colleagues. After that Abdulla asked him if he considered himself creative and why. Mohammad said that yes he does and he told us the story of making the tool box that he made. Yousef asked him why he would hire him. Mohammad said that he had enough qualifications for the job. After our questions Mohammad asked what his job title would be. Abdulla said Mechanical Engineer Trainee. Then Mohammad asked how long the contract would be. Abdulla said from 3 to 5 years. Then Hedley ended the interview by thanking Mohammad and telling him that we would contact him in a few days.

Interviewers: Hedley, Omar and Mohammad Abdulla
Position: Waiter
 Hedley greeted me, introduced himself and the other interviewers who were going to interview me. Hedley asked me to introduce myself briefly and I did by telling my name, age, what I study and my GPA. The first question was why I wanted to work as a waiter in their restaurant. I said that I am interested in meeting new people of different nationalities and being a waiter is the best and the easiest way to do it. Mohammad asked me what my goals were. I simply answered; continue my education and being independent. Then he asked me if I could work under pressure and I said yes. Hedley asked me to give them an example about that. I said when I study for some big tests while I am very nervous and that nervousness doesn’t stop me from what I want to do. Omar asked me in terms of salary how much I was hoping to make. I said that I would be satisfied with your minimum wage. In the end they asked me if I had a question for them and I said yes, but I forgot what it was. Then Hedley thanked me for coming and said that they would contact me in a few days.
